I am a highly organized test and quality engineer making a career change into backend web development. I come with 5 years of highly transferable experience working in robotic and embedded systems engineering. • Wrote C++ Arduino sketches to stress test and lifetime test waterjet cutter products.
• Wrote DASYLab scripts to log .csv formatted test data over 300+ hours of machine runtime to 8 channel DAQ from pressure and flow rate sensors.
• Enabled targeted design revisions by writing MATLAB scripts for data analysis and reporting trends in pressure/flow rate data representing the product lifetime.

Quality Engineer, Castle Hill Gaming, Sep 2022 - Jan 2023, Charlottesville VA

• Improved release testing turnaround time by 100% (1 -> 2 games per day) by rewriting the suite of tests for releasing new game software.
• Triaged, documented, and tracked dozens of bugs within Agile processes.
• Used serial sniffer to test GAT, an industry standard authentication tool for casino games, a major feature implementation that opened Castle Hill’s games to new markets.

• Developed Python device drivers and custom libraries using pyserial, threading, and other libraries to integrate 3rd party test equipment into our automated robotic mondsetups.
• Wrote and owned continuous improvement of dozens of Python test scripts and device drivers for several hardware and software robotic liquid handling products.
• Wrote several custom functions in Excel for data calculations/conversions, such as volumetric precision (%d) and volumetric accuracy (CV).
• Redesigned touch_tip() function in Opentrons API for GEN2 Pipettes, leading to elimination of widespread pipette precision/accuracy issues.

• Assisted customers with writing and troubleshooting custom Python scripts written to automate lab protocols using our robotic platform, improving customer retention.
• Worked in a cross-functional team to improve the company's primary KPI (customer activation) from ~30% to > 85%. I contributed highly detailed and categorized customer case reports that became a critical source of information for roadmapping revisions.
• Reduced our average response time from 5+ business days to < 1 hour and our case resolution rate from < 5% to ~90% for ~400 cases per month.
